Why is David Sedaris so funny?

:He just read an exerpt of his new book on Letterman and it just got progressively deadpan and more absurd as it went along. How is one person so consistently funny? Must buy his new book now. I have to say I’m so glad I don’t take the subway anymoe because I used to read Sedaris in public and risk appearing totally insane.
